boutros bubba katadreuffe new music 100x100 Ridiculous Period! New music coming by Katadreuffe and Boutros BubbaNoisegazers Katadreuffe and mathgoofballs Boutros Bubba have both nearly finished new stuff. Katadreuffe is putting final touches to a 4 song EP that will be called Period. Boutros Bubba is doing the same for their new album Ridiculous Wrists. Period is most likely available in October or November. The release date of the Boutros Bubba album depends on when the cover art is finished. Rumours are that the bands lead singer/guitar player Spoelstra is attempting to paint an album cover on canvas using his erect penis as a brush.
By the way, there is a (new) Katadreuffe website. Check it out: katadreuffe.com

A Place To Bury Strangers.

Unfold, a great and free poster magazine about what’s on in Amsterdam, published an interview with Katadreuffe on their website. ‘At least half of the band has a soft spot for a good pop song.’

Then – after a long time checking – we had Katadreuffe, who had enough equipment to fill a freight container. And about 30 guitars to tune. Maybe they were embarking on some Rhys Chatham sonic experiment? No, it was the same Katadreuffe this magazine has come to admire: an angry refracted, mumbling, snarling band who have the most preposterously sensual sound in Holland; thick, rich and very suggestive. And still I can’t tell you what it’s suggestive of, as in many ways they’re such a puzzle.  Their lyrics sound like a set of permanently repeated soliloquies, aimed at no-one in particular; like some Goth Hamlet sitting on a bench outside Zeeman. They are bizarre, but once you start getting hooked into this strange self-centred vibe they have, that’s it, you’re gone.
