Tonight, November 29, Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam hosts Musiclab, a bi-monthly interactive talkshow on music and technology. Rude 66 will present a Korg Monotron showcase, with a couple of tracks that are completely built up from Monotron sounds. He will be joined on stage by three more people playing Monotrons, including our own Stijn Dissen (a.k.a. Garçon Taupe). Should be fun! Also on the programme are STEIM‘s Electronic Marching Band and DJ DNA.
The Here Is the Night EP by Hunter Complex, which was originally released in December 2009, is now available in Spotify. The EP contains remixes and remakes of the track Here Is the Night by Garçon Taupe, Coen Oscar Polack and Spoelstra and an extended instrumental of the track Fashion Street, featuring Jantijn Prins (Psychon) on guitar and Wiechert Warntjes (former member of Quarles van Ufford and Morbide Eenheid) on saxophone. With Phonica, the Dutch label esc.rec. and MobileVideoNet have released the first interactive audiovisual release for mobile phones ever! When installed on your phone, sounds and imagery of the six pieces respond to battery status, signal strenth and time. Our own Garçon Taupe delivered a work called Taupe Soundcloud. As the battery of your phone loses power, weather conditions become worse and the sounds get more hectic. The works on Phonica can be downloaded or ordered via SMS (Netherlands only).
