Webzine Eclectro put up their annual election for the best dance track of the year. The smart voting system presents two tracks at a time, so you can check them out and then select the one you prefer. The shortlist (100 tracks) contains two tracks that Narrominded released this year: Legowelt – In Dark Trees (from the Retro Retry 2 cd) and Garçon Taupe – Lobo (from Split LP#4). Go here to check out the tracks & vote!
Webzine Eclectro invited us to present the electronic side of our catalogue in a mix. To make this a special thing instead of simply a bunch of songs in a row, we’ve invited DJ Marcelle van Hoof to make the mix. We know her from gigs in Amsterdam and from her show Another Nice Mess (hosted on dfm.nu) and we figured that her eclectic and slightly chaotic style of mixing would fit our music. The result is an exciting selection of Narrominded tracks mixed with a.o. Pandit Pran Nath, Listen With Sarah, Raymond Scott, musicians from Ethiopia and Mali, a skipping cd-player and an original Dampflokomotiv. Online techno radiostation XT3 will present a show about webzine Eclectro tonight. Editor in chief Inge Janse will share some of his favorite electronic music with the listeners, including Narrominded material by Hydrus and Legowelt (check the full playlist here). The show will be broadcasted tonight between 8 and 10 pm and will also be available as a soundcloud on Electro later this week. Byron Coley and Thurston Moore call the Split LP by Mats Gustafsson and Cor Fuhler ‘amazing shit’. Read more here. The German student magazine Unikat reviews Katadreuffe‘s Quel Gargantua! And finally, the free mp3 music culture magazine Phlow on Slow Country For Old Men by Psychon: ‘fluidity is the key-word’. We’re happy to read that Eclectro.nl loved the Hydrus package we sent them to promote the release of the Postcards EP as FLAC.
