Coen Oscar Polack, Hosenhausen, MiaMia, Roald van Dillewijn and Spoelstra playing a live soundtrack to René Laloux’ La Planète Sauvage (1973).
On april 20 and 21 a group of artists closely associated with Narrominded will perform a live soundtrack to René Laloux’ astonishing animation film La Planète Sauvage. Performing the new soundtrack will be Spoelstra, Roald van Dillewijn (of Puin + Hoop fame), Hosenhausen (from Katadreuffe), laptop lady MiaMia and Coen Oscar Polack. The music will be partly scored, partly improvised. If you would like to attend one of these two performances (or both!), you can contact Delicatessen Zeeburg and make a reservation. This is highly advised because of limited seats. You can also grab the chance to tuck in on one of the great Delicatessen meal deals before the start of the film.
The gallery Delicatessen in Amsterdam released a book with a compilation with tracks by Narrominded artists Coen Oscar Polack and Hunter Complex. For four weeks in a row different music photographers showed their photos at Delicatessen. Each week different musicians and writers where invited to give their response to one or more of the photos shown in the gallery. A week after each opening they read and played their response in the gallery. A very nice book with lots of photos and cool words including a cd-r with 12 tracks is the result of these four weeks. You can buy this book + cd-r in our shop for only 10 euro, but you can also download the whole compilation for free on the Delicatessen website.
Check out the invitation card of Henk Langeveld’s ehxibition in Delicatessen, with a cool drawing of Spoelstra. The work on display is a selection of drawings of musicians and poets, and landscapes in Amsterdam East. The exhibition runs until the end of September.
Wunderkind Spoelstra played at the opening of Delicatessen, a new venue/shop/cinema/art gallery/whatever in Amsterdam. Delicatessen is owned by Bas Jacobs of Pfaff and is located at Sumatrastraat 32 in Zeeburg in the east of Amsterdam. Read more about it in this article by Peter Bruyn.
