Host Aad van Nieuwkerk plays tracks from the original album back to back with interpretations taken off our Retro Retry 2 cd. Meanwhile, he takes us on a walk through Scotland and London, and speaks about the history of the album, about Eno’s working methods, his inspirations and his guest musicians. It’s a very interesting listen, and it’s available in streaming audio on De Wissel’s blog where you can also read more about Another Green World in general and this show in particular (in Dutch).

shouting boots 100x100 Track from Retro Retry 2 played on Shouting Boots, Radio 6The program Shouting Boots on Radio 6, hosted by Jaap Boots en Koen Schouten, played the track The Big Ship by Coen Oscar Polack from the upcoming release Retro Retry 2: Another Another Green World, a remake of Brian Eno’s masterpiece Another Green World (1975). The track was requested by DJ Guuzbourg, who was on the radio show to promote the cd Gainsnord, a tribute to the French singer Serge Gainsbourg. Listen to the fragment in the player below.

rr2 1 100x100 Retro Retry 2 discs have arrived!!The discs for Retro Retry 2: Another Another Green World have arrived at Narrominded HQ. The nice design was made by Willehad Eilers who also took care of the rest of the artwork for this release. We are expecting the digipak sleeves for the album to arrive very very soon.

hunter complex 100x100 Hunter Complex adds new tracks on MyspaceHunter Complex is the new moniker of Lars Meijer. His debut album Hunter Complex will be released on Narrominded in the autumn of 2009 and contains 12 songs. The music echoes influences by synthpop and new wave bands from the eighties, but will also appeal to fans of current electronic music acts. The debut album will be preceded by the ep Here Is the Night, a contribution to Retro Retry 2: Another Another Green World (Brian Eno) and a track on the Narrominded download sampler included with the magazine Gonzo Circus (more info on that one later). On this album, 14 artists cover Brian Eno’s Another Green World (1975) in it’s entirety. All participating artists are based in the Netherlands and operate in the field of electronic and electro-acoustic music. We’re proud to announce the full line-up: FFF, Polycorn, Legowelt, Rude 66, Coen Oscar Polack, Spoelstra, This Is Total War, Garçon Taupe, Nanko, Baba Electronica & DJ Lonely, Hakki Takki, Puin + Hoop, Hunter Complex and Hydrus. The album is the follow-up to Retro Retry 1: EVOL (2005), on which Sonic Youth’s EVOL was covered by 10 Dutch bands, including Gone Bald, Makazoruki, Pfaff, Fine China Superbone and zZz. The artwork for RR1 was done by Vormversterker. The cd was distributed with That Dam! magazine, which featured an exclusive poem by Lee Ranaldo.
