We’re stoked to announce the debut release of Nederpop doomers Rooie Waas. Het is maar een constatering will be released on September 1. Meanwhile, you can preview two tracks on the Narrominded Bandcamp page where you can also pre-order the album. Rooie Waas will be playing live at the Amsterdam SOTU festival on May 12. Vice mixtape by Matto Frank

Matto Frank made a mixtape for Vice to celebrate the release of China. The result is, according to Vice, ‘a cheerfully pumping mix of Asian pop, trance and dubstep, sometimes of a deafening sound quality’. Fortunately enough, we’ve warned them about that beforehand. Meanwhile, Vital Weekly is ‘not sure what to make of the cd’, which is ‘an amazing document’ according to Caleidoscoop.

Matto Frank is Frank Schouten. China is his debut release on Narrominded. Under the name Hakki Takki he creates improvised techno and made a contribution to the Narrominded release Retro Retry 2: Another Another Green World, a remake of the legendary album by Brian Eno. Schouten also presents the weekly radio show Wasmachine on DFM.nu (formerly Radio 100) and he runs the record label Plattegrond, which releases music by artists such as Reefteef, Bahk and Peter Quistgard.
